I Finally Stopped to Listen
I’ve been wanting to photograph this lone tree since summer, but every time I passed by, I didn’t quite dare to capture the feeling it gives me.

There’s something about its shape, its age, the way it stands against the open sky — as if it has witnessed more seasons than I can imagine.

Last Sunday, in the quiet of a misty November morning, I finally decided to log it into my diary of memories. I tried to portray what my eyes have always seen here: a giant standing in silence, rooted in the heart of Sachse, holding the colors of autumn and the stories of this place.

The Roadside
I had been thinking about taking a photo of the beautiful trees along the road for quite a while. I was unable to manage due to heavy traffic on the road, mainly during the day.

Today I was passing by this tree and thought to shoot it because early morning has less traffic, but I definitely couldn't stand in the road, so I tried to find a composition around the roadside.

Now I'm documenting it as a memory.

The Family
I liked these healthy trees together as a cluster. Initially, I thought of taking individual shots, but I felt they didn't do justice to how mighty and strong they look together. So I made a panorama.

I Kept Coming Back

I’ve visited this tree many times. There’s something about it—the weight, the shape, the quiet depth it carries. Each time I looked at it, I felt something, but I could never quite isolate it in a photograph the way my eyes experienced it.

So I finally took this shot not to perfect it, but to log it into my memories.

A way to remember how this beautiful structure of nature made me feel.

Big Bend National Park, Texas - It preserves 120+ million years of Earth’s history, from ancient seas and massive volcanic eruptions to the rise of the Rocky Mountains. The park exposes layered canyons, uplifted fault blocks, lava flows, and fossil-rich deposits, making it a natural textbook of tectonic, volcanic, and sedimentary processes.

Its landscapes reveal how oceans, deserts, and mountains shaped West Texas over deep time.

I’ve visited this place many times, and each time I notice the flowers at the base of the tree—always fresh, as if someone tends to them with care.
That day, the wind was restless, while the clouds added a gentle drama to the sky. Across the lake, a line of yellow trees brought depth and balance, at least to my eyes.
It felt right to pause and pay my respects. I made this photograph to preserve that feeling—to turn this quiet, fleeting moment into a memory within my catalog.
